cLAiming L. A. for Christ

  What is "cLAim"?
cLAim is an evangelistic initiative for claiming L. A. for Christ that has been voted by the Southern California Conference (SCC) Executive Committee. Through this initiative, SCC is  partnering with the It Is Written (IIW) television ministry in reaching out to IIW’s more than 500,000 viewers in the Los Angeles and Ventura County area with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

  What is the cLAim plan for claiming L. A. for Christ?

• •  Conduct a series of evangelistic meetings throughout our area in 2009 and 2010, featuring IIW Speaker/Director Shawn Boonstra.
  

To prepare for these meetings, we have scheduled the following:

• •  Conference-wide rallies
  
• •  Lay training sessions and convocations (09 Evangelism Preparation Details), to encourage and inspire SCC members for our shared task of reaching our communities for Christ.
  
• •  Encourage SCC churches to participate in a wide variety of evangelistic preparation activities in their area, with results shared in the quarterly Evangelism Newsletter and a new Email newsletter to be circulating soon.

  “Each One, Reach One” – We encourage each active SCC member to:

• •  Prayerfully purpose to reach one person in 2008 and 2009;
  
• •  Get involved in training for lay evangelism through a class scheduled in your area;
  
• •  Witness with Bible studies or in some other way to a neighbor, friend, co-worker or relative.

  The North American Division of our church has designated 2008-2010 for specific aspects of evangelism:

• •  2008 is the “Year of Preparation”
  
• •  2009 will be “The Year of Proclamation”
  
• •  2010 will be “The Year of Preservation” or discipling.

  Southern California Conference administrators and other leaders are eager for our conference membership to partner with North American Adventists in this three-year plan by participating in cLAiming others for Christ right here in our own field. May the Lord bless you as you pray for His direction about what part you will play in this major, ongoing outreach for Him.
